About Edwinder

Ed’s interest for LEGO was rekindled not long ago and it seems there’s no way out of the rabbit hole. His love for LEGO goes beyond the bricks and into being curious about every aspect about the company, its strategy, the community and the eco-system that brings the brick to life. His AFOL counterparts describe him as inquisitive, opinionated and vengeful. His response is you should not believe everything you read on the internet.

With 10 new sets, next year’s first wave includes scenes from all three Skywalker trilogies, with some familiar vehicles and some that we’re seeing for the first time. Given that December’s The Rise of Skywalker is not yet released, there may be minor spoilers contained in those sets, if you’re trying to stay totally spoiler-free.

Prehistoric palaeontology pieced perfectly with plastic

I have no idea how accurate these are but Damian Thomas pulled a great feat of replicating the shape and structure of a few prehistoric monster skulls using LEGO Technic parts in white. What we have are the skulls of a Dilophosaurus, a Triceratops and a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the respective order below. They’re all so good I can’t decide which is my favourite. If you’re lovin’ all things prehistoric and composed of calcium goodness, the closest official set of an arrangement of bones from LEGO  is the recent 21320 Dinosaur Fossils Ideas set.

Build James Bond’s Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me [Instructions]

Looking back at the action scenes from the 1977 James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me make them seem downright cheesy today. Having said that, the reason why the Lotus Esprit is still remembered and loved is just how realistic the way the car submerged and reappeared on the sandy beach. Simple designs are sometimes the key to making things rememberable. Hachiroku24’s take on this vehicle not only looks great from the sides, but also has great detailing on the rear using simple 1×1 plates for its rear tail lights.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for Starscream!

The character attributes that I’ll always remember Starscream for are being whiny, always going around his boss’s plans, and frequently retreating when things go wrong. I guess those are also his best attributes that make him memorable after all these decades. What’s more interesting, however, is YouTuber Starscreamer’s creation of his namesake, the Transformers Generation 1 Decepticon Starscream. It’s created with an uncanny likeness, with the signature colors and parts that give it the perfect shaping.
